Hey guys!
Welcome back to another 3 question Friday, this week we will be diving into these three topics:
- Sharon asked “Can you consume too much Hemp Seed products?"
- Maree was wondering “Does Hemp Seed Oil lose its benefits once heated?"
- Angie wanted to know "What are some tips to get through the COVID 19 lockdown?"
1. “Can you consume too much 13 Seeds Hemp Seed products?"
Simply put, No you can't!
The beauty of Hemp Seed products is that they are extremely safe to consume. Now, that is not a challenge to see how much you can physically have - as everything that we consume should be in moderation.
By including more than one of our foods in your diet, you can benefit from the different nutrients that each provides.
For example, our Hemp Seed Oil is a great way to get macro-nutrients into your diet which are fats, proteins and carbohydrates.
Whereas our Hemp Protein Powder or Hemp Super Greens Powder are higher in Protein - which is great for muscle repair.
Thirdly, a product like our Hemp Hearts are rich in micro-nutrients including phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, iron, B vitamins and Vitamin A and Vitamin C.
By including a mix of these in your diet, you can reap all of the benefits that each one provides to assist you in feeling more vital.
2. “Does Hemp Seed Oil lose its benefits once heated?"
I am happy to announce that Hemp Seed Oil does not degrade when heated during cooking!
Hemp Seed Oil is quite stable, and has a smoking point of 165°. This means it definitely can be used in your cooking/baking without losing any of the nutritional value.
We do however, advise against using it in deep frying as this may result in the degradation or breakdown of the essential fatty acids that are required for anti-inflammation.
3. "What are some tips to get through the COVID 19 lockdown?"
If you are currently in restrictions or lockdown at the moment, there are a range of things we can recommend to help keep you feeling great. The 3 main areas that you should focus on are making sure you are getting the right amount of sleep, managing your stress and keeping consistent with your diet!
Sleep
It is easy to slip into bad sleeping habits, and this can be quite detrimental to our health. Focus on getting the right amount of sleep with no distractions. This could mean leaving electronics in another room, setting an alarm to head to bed at the same time each day or even just making sure you get enough hours each night.
Stress
Managing our stress is another key point to take into consideration. While we all navigate our way through not being able to see friends and working from home - it isn't uncommon to have increased stress. As the weather starts to improve, consider going for walks, meditating or keeping a journal to help you with your mindfulness!
Diet
This point is huge! We are hearing more and more about diets that are being neglected as motivation levels are at an all time low. We can not stress enough how important it is to make sure you are consuming the right amounts of fruits and veg, protein and essential fatty acids.
This is one of the reasons that we have created our Idle to Vital program, which offers educational material and foods to get on top of this!
Congratulations to this week’s winners for asking some great questions! Sharon, Maree and Angie – I have sent you all an email with your $20 gift card as a reward!
