Turmeric spiced grilled chicken skewers

Enjoy these turmeric-spiced grilled chicken skewers for a flavorful, healthy dish!

Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken thighs or breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp hemp seed oil
  • 2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Fresh coriander, chopped (for garnish)
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a large bowl, mix together hemp seed oil, turmeric powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, ground ginger, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Stir well to combine into a smooth marinade.

  2. Marinate the Chicken: Add the chicken pieces to the bowl with the marinade, ensuring the chicken is fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for more flavor).

  3. Preheat Grill: Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

  4. Assemble the Skewers: Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers.

  5. Grill the Skewers: Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char.

  6. Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, remove the skewers from the grill. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro and serve hot.
