Hemp Protein Brownies

Afternoon tea is a great time to load up your kids with healthy fruit slices and vegetable sticks, with a decadent yet healthy hemp protein brownie as a treat for all their hard work at school or daycare.

Including Hemp in your child’s diet is perfectly healthy and a great way to include plant-based protein, including Omega 3 and Omega 6 in the perfect 3:1 ration. It’s also a good way to include fibre, magnesium, zinc and iron, as well as free radical fighting antioxidants. These can reduce cholesterol and may also help to stabilise blood sugar. As well as being all natural, vegan, gluten and GM free, they also have no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. 

Our hemp flour is also high in protein and packed with nutrition, with a five-star health rating, which you can substitute in baking (20% hemp flour swapped out for the flour in the recipe).

Hemp Protein Brownies

Ingredients
⅔ cup 13 Seeds Hemp Protein Powder
1 Tbsp cacao powder
3 tsp Hemp honey
2 tsp coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
15 ml water

Method
Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add melted coconut oil, honey, vanilla and water until the mixture is able to form balls. Flatten into a slice tin lined with baking paper and cut into squares. You could add a handful of nuts or Hemp Hearts if desired. Place in an airtight container in the fridge and keep for one week.
